Maintenance Mechanic / Maintenance Technicians - 2nd & 3rd ShiftLocation: Chicago, IL (North Side)Rate: $26 - $36/hrDuration: PermanentMaintenance Mechanic II Job Responsibilities:Client is looking for experienced Maintenance MechanicsMaintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in a high paced production stamping environment.Maintenance Mechanic II Job Duties: Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance on mechanical presses, press line related equipment, conveyor systems, overhead cranes and various production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Perform Preventative tasks associated on heavy industrial manufacturing equipment. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Proficient in rigging/lifting fundamentals required for large equipment replacements. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Maintenance Mechanic Skills and Qualifications: Equipment maintenance, technical understanding, technical zeal, deals with uncertainty, basic safety, power tools, attention to detail, flexibility, job knowledge, productivity.Qualifications Basic Qualifications:.High School Diploma or equivalent.Journeyman level skills supported by successful completion of a certified mechanical training program.Minimum 8 years mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.Proven safety record that demonstrates solid performanceSkills .Must understand preventive/predictive/proactive maintenance concepts and have essential skills in the following:.Millwright duties.Rebuild procedures of mechanical presses, gearboxes, pumps, etc..Knowledge of coupling types and where used.Demonstrated proficiency in using precision measurement tools.Demonstrated operational knowledge of lathe, milling machine and hydraulic press.Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting drawings and blue prints.Basic computer skills in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System.Strong communication and leadership skills, including self-motivationPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to: Continuously lift/move 10 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Continuously stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk; and hear. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist, and work in limited space. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
