The UWHC Maintenance Mechanic - Associate performs maintenance and repair work within the CSC, AFCH and associated remote clinics and buildings, such as maintaining heating and air conditioning equipment, emergency power systems, medical gas distribution and supply systems, food service equipment, and hospital life support systems for direct and indirect patient use under the guidance of a higher level maintenance mechanic. The Associate is generally given instructions and/or assistance by a higher level mechanic on the more complex tasks to be completed. The Maintenance Mechanic Associate inspects, diagnoses and repairs equipment in emergency situations, monitors and adjusts the building(s) environment and lighting using a computerized building automation system, and monitors and adjusts computerized, intelligent fire alarm systems under the guidance of a higher level maintenance mechanic.
The hospital environment requires quick response to system and equipment failures. Repairs may be performed independently or assisting a higher level maintenance mechanic.
Work Schedule : 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday (can be adjusted if needed). Hours and schedule may vary.

High school graduate or equivalent.
One (1) year mechanical maintenance experience or formal training, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Familiarity with the operation of maintenance related tools and equipment.
Ability to operate a PC.
Possession of good customer service skills.
Physical Requirements: Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
