High School Diploma or GED required. In addition, applicants must achieve a minimum score of 70% on each of the following assessments:

Must be able to read, interpret and follow written materials including operator manuals, safety procedures, SOPs and SSOPs. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals required. Must be able to convert units of weights and measures. Must be able to computer rate, ratio and percent. Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos in the English language. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and group settings to co-workers, management and other employees of the organization is required. MSSC, CQIA, Lean Bronze Certification preferred.
This position requires five (5) years of proven industrial maintenance experience. Working on fillers, cappers, case packers, palletizers, associated conveyors and equipment is preferred. Skills and experience must include ability to read and interpret schematic prints of plant equipment in order to trouble-shoot and/or make repairs with minimal supervision. Must understand basic electrical control circuitry and mechanical ratios. Must understand process systems including steam controls and components including valves, traps, strainers and regulators. Ability to perform precision cutting and welding to meet food plant standards is required. This includes metal layout, fabrication, STICK, TIG and MIG welding. Sanitary purge welding is preferred. The ability to obtain a license and operate a forklift is required. HACCP/ISO experience is preferred.
This position requires regular standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, occasional climbing, bending, stooping balancing, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Heavy physical requirements include frequent lifting and/or movement of objects up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting and/or movement of object up to 50 pounds. This position has frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Must be able to master basic computer skills such as opening, reading, creating and sending email and attachments and documents. Basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking and planning purposes. Must demonstrate self-motivation, positive attitude, teamwork and Core Values. Must be able to work on several projects at the same time, prioritizing work responsibilities to meet the business needs.
Follow all OEM instructions for proper installation, operation, inspection and preventative maintenance activities for plant packaging and processing equipment to insure efficient operation and minimize downtime. Respond to maintenance calls when required and/or requested. Perform routine preventative/proactive maintenance activities on all assigned equipment based on technical and CMMS maintenance requirements. Set-up assigned production lines and assist with changeovers as needed. Perform assigned work projects. Help develop and maintain technical procedures and documentation. Troubleshoot equipment performing needed repairs to minimize downtime. Must have the ability to operate, maintain and clean all production and support equipment in the CBU. Must be able to provide training and guidance to team members, operators and others as needed to meet the business needs. Must be able to complete HACCP, ISO and Safety documents as needed, Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe environment in accordance with established requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Perform daily maintenance tasks. Rebuild pumps, gear boxes and other equipment as needed to ensure repairs are completed on time. A working knowledge of conveyor systems, inline fillers, valves, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, ultrasonic welders, photo eyes and limit switches is required. Responsibilities also include participation in future training sessions to support new and existing production equipment or technology. Support compliance with Safety and GMP programs. Regular attendance is required. Must interact cordially with customers and co-workers. Support compliance with safety and GMP programs.
