Position Summary: With direction from the Shift supervisor, the position is accountable for all daily production and operational activities related to mold setup, operation and optimization. Additional activities would include operation and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, plant equipment, and other miscellaneous tasks. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Participates in maintaining a safe workplace: follows all plant safety policies, especially those related to Energy Isolation; proper use of PPE or other protective gear as necessary. Responsible for normal setup and operation of production and plant auxiliary equipment in order to meet production goals. Responds to machine downtime as directed by Maintenance or Supervisor. Documents setups, normal operating parameters, and changes to parameters. Assists Maintenance Mechanics with repairs or rebuilds as necessary. Performs miscellaneous repairs and rebuilds and works on projects as directed. Properly follows procedures or other instructions relating to restoration of equipment to running condition after work is performed, including properly cleaning up after the work, replacing tools. Assists in general upkeep of maintenance shop and spare parts cribs. Follows procedures relating to proper control of materials and spare parts. REQUIREMENTS: Possess attention-to-detail and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Be willing to work various shifts, hours, and overtime as required. Must have good organizational and communication skills. Must demonstrate a high level of initiative, effectiveness, and creativity in dealing with out-of-ordinary situations and conditions; requiring little or no assistance in performing the duties of the job. Must maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma. Must have a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Some Blow molding or injection molding experience. Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work from blue prints, sketches, or manuals is a plus.
