JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for repair, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of all laundry and kitchen equipment in the hotel, in accordance with hotel standards. Will assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned.

Job Requirements

* Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.

* Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.

* Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

* Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

* Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.

* Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

* Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer.

* Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.

* Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.

* Check work orders and night report for any problems.Make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the hotel.

* Schedule work in accordance with preventative maintenance program, coordinating with the Executive Housekeeper and Executive Chef.

* Maintain par stock levels of standard fixtures, wiring, and other supplies related to kitchen equipment.

* Perform plumbing service, including but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, repair or replacement of the property's plumbing equipment and systems.

* Perform kitchen services, including but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, repair or replacement of the property's kitchen equipment, which include:

* stoves.

* ovens.

* broilers.

* convection ovens.

* steam kettles.

* steam tables.

* slicers.

* toaster.

* mixers.

* dishwasher.

* silver burnisher.

* all small appliances (cutters, choppers, blenders, etc.).

* fire/life safety systems.

* Calibrate thermostats.

* Clean orifice and adjust gas pressure.

* Perform following preventative maintenance measures on kitchen and laundry equipment (gas, steam, and electric):

* Keep correct water temperature in dishwasher.

* Service rinsing and washing tanks.

* Check pump system and solenoid valve.

* Install new gas equipment when required.

* Respond to gas leaks in the kitchen area.

* Prepare and complete any and all logs, service requests, paperwork, etc., required.

* Maintain complete working knowledge of the latest techniques in laundry and kitchen equipment installation, maintenance, replacement or repair.

* Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools.

* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas to include:

* inventories.

* requisition (receipt and storage).

* trash removal.

* Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces.

* Ensure security of any assigned keys.

* Initiate cost estimates of labor and materials for specific projects.

* Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow-up actions with the Supervisor.

High school diploma or equivalent
