The MIPS Architecture and Performance Modelling Group seeks a motivated and self-driven engineer who will be a key member of a team responsible for modeling the latest performance-efficient MIPS processors designed by Imagination Technologies. Primary responsibilities include developing high-level models for processor pipelines of different classes from low-end to high-end, making performance vs area and power trade-offs to achieve performance and power efficiency targets based on industry-standard benchmarks, working with the design teams to implement modeled architecture, and correlating design with the architecture by creating diagnostics. The engineer will also be responsible for developing visualization and analysis tools to assist in debug and conducting trade-off analysis. This is a position where a recent graduate with the motivation to learn the latest processor architecture/modelling techniques can thrive and grow in a challenging field with great demand. Qualifications: The preferred candidate must have the following qualifications: - Fundamental understanding of pipeline architectures including but not limited to state-of-the-art branch prediction, out-of-order scheduling, super-scalar issue, coherency and ordering. - Assembly programming experience using MIPS/ARM/PowerPC/Sparc/x86. - Ability to program fluently in C/C++ and Perl/Python. - Some exposure to physical-design in order to make architecture vs. implementation trade-offs.

Experience/Education: EE,CE,CS degree in Computer Architecture. MS or PhD with demonstrated expertise in Microprocessor Architecture and C/C++ programming skills a must. The expertise can be in the form of Thesis, relevant classes, and/or internships. Work experience a plus.
