GENERAL DUTIES: Must have an excellent understanding of engineer practices, principles, and knowledge of related sciences and disciplines. Will be required to provide highly technical Electro-Optical (EO) design and engineering expertise for a test lab. Must be able to work with little to no oversight for tasks involving Electro-Optical engineering disciplines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides Journeyman level expertise to resolve moderately challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Works independently to resolve moderately difficult tasks with occasional support and consultation with senior level personnel. Provide support for electro-optical systems design and implementation. Design, develop, and integrate. Maintain and upgrade EO systems for the purpose of missile test and evaluation via HITL simulation. These systems include visible, UV and IR scene projection systems, LASER target simulators. LADAR projectors, radiometers, broad spectrometers, imaging IR systems and imaging radiometers. Provide expertise in the design and implementation of highly constrained EO systems for harsh environments (e.g., aboard high dynamic flight motion simulators). Provide expertise in the area of IR, UV and LASER radiometry including analysis alignment and calibration of detector/senor systems. Design and develop unique optical target simulators for guidance system stimulation. Analyze optical system limitations and develop alternative simulation approaches to overcome performance limitations.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Optical Engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position and a minimum of five years' experience in specialized or focused areas related to electro-optical systems design and implementation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Top Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is normally performed in an environmentally controlled office/laboratory environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be capable of performing required tasks while using wide variations of physical effort such as sitting, running, walking, standing, crawling, climbing or remaining in awkward, sometimes strained, positions for extended periods of time; may be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
