Position Overview As an IT Security Engineer and a member of PNC's Information Technology, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, or Columbus, OH. For well qualified candidates, remote work is an option.

As an IT Security Engineer you will provide accurate and cost efficient security operational services to internal & external clients. Responsibilities include system integration, ongoing management, and support of security infrastructure in a large environment. Must be able to analyze situations, assess risk and determine appropriate actions necessary to remediate risk. This individual must be able to work with internal technology groups to coordinate deployment of solutions. Must exercise good judgment in the handling of security related matters, must be sensitive to both legal and personnel related ramifications of their actions. Provide consulting support in area of responsibility to other internal teams. Participate in providing 24/7 support of security systems as necessary to proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information of the company. Perform administrative tasks including updating and maintaining trouble logs, metrics, time reporting, change control records, production documentation, etc. Maintains expertise on the security products and functions supported through continued education and training.

This position will be responsible for operations within Cyber Security specifically web application and web services security. Operations will not be limited to break-fix situations, but will also include application integration activities and day-to-day administration of platforms & solutions. Opportunities to cross train on other security platforms.

. Possess an experienced level and thorough understanding of IT concepts including network structures, operating system capabilities, and application architecture requirements
. Strong understanding of web based applications, directory services, and web services security. (CA SSO/SiteMinder, Sun Directory, Oracle Unified Directory, IBM DataPower preferred)
. Experience with vulnerability assessment and remediation a plus
. Unix / Linux, TCP/IP networking proficiency
. Strong verbal and written communication skills
. Programming / scripting experience preferred Job Profile
Responsible for the operations and maintenance of managed security components and devices. Creates and designs security solutions for use in complex operating environments. Ensures the performance of the security network and provides suggestions on how to optimize and improve security infrastructure. ?Performs in-depth system and network analysis to identify risks and design flaws.?Create and design security solutions for use in complex operating environments?.Development of detailed implementation, configuration, design, and engineering documentation. Firewall Management - Extensive Experience Knowledge of the methods, techniques and processes to install, maintain and update firewall systems; ability to use these to control the access of business information, both allowing passage to authorized sources and denying passage to unauthorized sources. Required Education and Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
