Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our company. The Industrial Engineer will be part of the New Product Introduction Process team, and will be responsible for the setup, and introduction of the new product into the facility. They will collect the data on the introduction, and provide a detailed output of the product introduction results to the customer. They will also provide product, and process improvement suggestions to the manufacturing floor, and to the customer,

As an industrial engineer you are responsible for developing the manufacturing process for new products, doing time studies on the process, collecting quality data, and issuing the New Product Introduction Reports . You will evaluate the product through the first three months of production to ensure that it meets the required takt times, quality goals, and other goals established during the product introduction. If there are issues, then you and the team are to address the issues, and resolve the issues found during the first three months of production.

The industrial engineer may also assist the other production lines in process improvements, time studies, and other engineering process improvement activities.

As a key team member you may lead the technical reviews to assess performance, build progress, quality data, as well as yield assessment. Satisfies all action items identified by the customer, and operations during New Product Introduction reviews, and ensures that all criteria are satisfied.

Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the New Product Introduction Manager, Manufacturing, and the Area Technical Team on introducing the new product, and the process to the area

  • Collect process, and quality data throughout the introduction of the product

  • Produce the New Product Introduction Report to the New Product Introduction team, and the customer

  • Develop new tools as needed to support new products

  • Develop new procedures to document the process, and product builds as needed

  • Train employees on the process

  • Develop Training Documentation if needed during the New Product Introduction

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Ensures that problems discovered during the pilot build are documented, and solutions in place prior to startup

Qualifications Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or any other Scientific or Technical discipline with 3-5 years experience required.

  • Experience in time studies, process improvements, and manufacturing.

  • Experience with either electronic, or mechanical product manufacturing.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing

  • Experience doing time studies, and then using the time study data to make process improvements to improve takt time

  • Experience introducing new products into a manufacturing environment

  • Ensures that problems discovered during the pilot build are documented, and solutions in place prior to startup

  • Ability to analyze New Product Introduction data to identify process bottlenecks, potential failure modes, potential quality issues, and then use this data to drive design, process, or maintainability improvements

  • Ability to interface with other disciplines, including quality, test, operations and the customer, etc.


  • BS, MS, IE or related discipline, and 3-5 years of equivalent experience

  • History of solving technical problems, solo and in a team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • Experience with contract manufacturing in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
