Responsibilities:

Holland, Inc., a recognized leader in the transportation industry is in search of an Industrial Engineer to join our Line Haul Operation at the Field Support Center in Holland, Michigan.

The role of the Industrial Engineer will be to develop and utilize optimization software, analyze data, and provide overall support in order to deliver results and continuously improve the Line haul operation.

The decisions, verbal communication, and actions of the Industrial Engineer must support and model the Holland core values and mission statement policy.

Specific responsibilities will be to perform a variety of tasks that are planned to support and improve the Line Haul operation using engineering methods, practices, and programs.

* Develop and utilize optimization software and tools in order to enhance line haul efficiencies, reduce cost, and improve the network freight flow

* Develop and support processes that improve network freight flow and cycle time

* Lead data analysis activities requiring assessment and deliver quantifiable results thru process improvement initiatives

* Study and analyze current processes, determine their effectiveness, and recommend strategies for improvement

* Trouble shoot network problems directly related to load plan and bid issues, and recommend resolution

* Participate in future planning and design of operations related technology solutions and processes

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering. Relevant certification and/or experience will be considered in the absence of a degree

* Proficiency using Microsoft applications and basic engineering and mapping tools

* Clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively articulate information to varying audiences, including at the Executive level

* Able to work independently as well as in a team environment, self-starter

* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities

* Understanding of IT concepts and business/technology integration

* Experience with communicating and implementing simple technology and/or process changes is preferred

* Ability to travel. Position requirement is approximately 10% travel annually
