Frito-Lay is hiring Full Time Maintenance Mechanics for our Aberdeen plant. This position pays $28.38/hr (plus shift differential). This position requires at least two years (or applicable training/education) of experience, and you should be able to be prepared to demonstrate competencies in one or more areas of mechanical maintenance from the following groups:ElectricalServo-MechanicalPneumaticsHydraulicsPlumbingWeldingMachiningElectronics If your experience or education includes wiring 480V 3-phase motors, PLC, VFD, relay/ladder logic, and motor controls, we want to talk to you. In addition to performing scheduled maintenance on operating equipment of the facility, you will:Attend meetings for information "pass down" from prior shifts.Perform "urgent call" repairs.Advise tool crib attendant of the need to order replacement parts or tools & supplies as neededMeet with the Planner to schedule work requestsMay perform work on installation projects in coordination with outside contractors The work of a Maintenance Mechanic with Frito-Lay in its manufacturing plants can vary significantly from one day to the next based upon the work to be performed. You will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. Variations in environment, including temperature and noise, are not unusual (our facilities have minimal heating or air conditioning and are loud). Physical demands may also vary. The physical demands of this position range from "very light" to "heavy." It may be necessary, for instance, to lift a motor from floor to waist, or gear boxes and drive tires. Projects involve both "running" and "static" repair functions. Running functions include, but are not limited to:Visual inspection of operational defectsListening to operational defectsInsuring guards are in proper operating condition during system operationsDetermining the operating function of the equipment according to required production outputs. Static repair functions include the repair and maintenance of equipment requiring shutdown procedures. We fix it all.
