Job Description

Looking for 18 months contract-to-hire consultant for one of the leading pharmaceutical companies located in Round Lake, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems.
  • Ensure that manufacturing and facilities equipment and systems perform within the standards set forth by regulatory agencies such as OSHA and the FDA.
  • Manage projects to completion, to include, but not limited to, new equipment installation, equipment modification, facilities improvements.
  • Assist in the training of the maintenance and production teams when needed.
  • Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
  • Interface with the production management team to schedule equipment testing and repairs.
  • Make decisions regarding the repair and/or purchase of equipment parts, components and systems.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and work space to illustrate maximum efficiency.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures and standardized operating sheets.
  • Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.
  • Update equipment and facility documentation (e.g. procedures, drawings, and manuals)
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret standardized operating procedures, equipment and architectural drawings, equipment manuals, and government documents (e.g. air permit).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and to climb up and down ladders.
