Job Title: Express Technician, AutoReports To: Auto Center ManagerExemption Status: Non-Exempt Scope of Responsibility:Responsible for successful execution of services on customer vehicles in single auto center. Supervision (Direct & Indirect): None Job Summary: The Express Technician is responsible for the successful tire, battery, and oil installation to customer vehicles following all automotive processes and procedures.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Participates actively in team servicing of every customer vehicle to ensure fast, expert serviceDedicates work time to providing excellent customer servicePromotes teamwork to deliver times and accurate customer care during all operating hoursDemonstrates a sense of responsive urgency to every customer, no matter what service is requiredUses the Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) form to understand customer service advisor's and customer service manager's instructionsFulfills the customer's needs the first time, every timeCommunicates with customer service manager, customer service advisor and other technicians to meet Sears Automotive time standards and to exceed customer requirementsAdheres strictly to Sears Automotive Dress Code standardsProtects customer's vehicle with floor mats, seat/steering wheel covers and, if necessary, fender coversRacks vehicle safely following Sears Automotive trainingPerforms Multi Point Inspection (MPI) visual inspections and communicate with customer service manager and/or customer service advisor within 10 minutesMaintains back shop cleanliness and equipment calibration to Sears Automotive standardsAvoids damage to wheels and hubcaps by using proper careUses proper mounting, balancing and repair techniques as defined in Sears Automotive trainingSets tire inflation per guidelinesFollows Sears Automotive Wheel Torque Policy fully to ensure customer safetyWashes tire and wheels and remove protective coating from tiresUses proper battery installation, testing and charging techniques as defined in trainingSigns off in Tire Point of Sale immediately on job completion to expedite customer exitThanks customer, expressing appreciation for the businessPerforms miscellaneous duties as assigned Education Requirements:HS Graduate or Equivalent Years of Related Experience: None License/Certificate Required: Yes Driver's License Required: Yes Travel Requirements: None Age Requirement: 18+ Required Skills:Successful completion of Sears Automotive Express Technician core curriculumCommitment to safety: Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, back belt, safety glasses and safety shoes at all timesMaintenance of individual productivity as defined by the business sales per hour standardAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 poundsExtended workdays of up to 10 hours, weekends and nights as necessaryAbility to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to read and utilize reportsExtensive spoken communication for customer and associate relationship skills Preferred Skills:Speed and expertise when installing tires and batteriesCommitment to teamwork and mentoring others The duties, responsibilities and requirements presented in this job description are intended to be representative in nature and should not be construed as an exhaustive list.
