INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER, P.E. Baton Rouge, Louisiana Job type: Full-time employee with benefits Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 (depending on experience) JOB DESCRIPTION: - Work on Intelligent Transportation Systems including CCTV cameras, dynamic message signs, dynamic speed limit signs, vehicle detection, communication hubs, control software, Traffic Management Center design and fiber optic, copper, and wireless communications systems - Perform communications engineering services to federal, state, and local governments as well as to private and industrial clients with deliverables including plans, modular specifications, data network analysis and opinion of probable cost, optical fiber network budgeting, OTDR trace analysis, and all associated field inspections required to ensure proper system integration and functionality - Design, development and preparation of detailed plans, technical specifications, and engineer's opinion of probable construction cost - Perform construction administration services, including shop drawing review, construction engineering and inspection, project coordination, report preparation and system commissioning/integration - Maintain power, communications, and control systems - Manage interdisciplinary projects ranging into the millions of dollars - Provide services such as project development, detailed project planning, front-end engineering and detailed design, opinion of construction cost, and technical construction engineering and inspection for a variety of electrical projects - Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents - Work with CAD personnel to convert designs to working drawings - Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards - Review shop drawings and equipment submittals - Visit construction site to monitor progress and other duties per contract documents - Organize and maintain project files - Maintain a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to information required by other team members - Assist in client relationship strategies - Attend client meetings - day or night (typically, client meetings take place during standard working hours) - Participate in marketing activities and business development - Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals - Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule REQUIREMENTS: - Graduate Engineer - BS in Engineering (accredited) - Professional Engineer registered in the State of Louisiana (or able to gain through reciprocity) - Education must be in Transportation or Electrical Engineering - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations - Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions - Possess strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office product suite - Valid driver's license TO APPLY, email your resume' to:
