Job Description

Position Summary: Provides support to internal and external clients with all electrical and control software issues and projects. Root cause analysis of wind turbine electrical and control software issues. Reports the data, research and conclusions internally and can have opportunities for client communication. Test, validate and supervise installation of control software, electrical equipment and components for Wind Turbines such as power converters, PLC (controllers), generators, transformers, etc

Responsibilities:

  • Support wind turbine software with internal teams including engineering, SCADA, O&M, project managers, sales, etc.
  • After-sale technical assistant to the customers, service sales and Operation and Maintenance teams.
  • Analysis of wind farms/wind turbines and the performance of their electrical systems and their control software / firmware.
  • Understand and support design modifications (upgrades) in terms of work instruction documentation, budget control, implementation, monitoring plan and technical support to the crews
  • Responsible for conducting investigations based on given technical issues (documenting and proving the conclusions) using root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques (RCA, Six Sigma, 8D, etc.).
  • Coordination with cross-functional teams on technical issues or engineering projects and products.
  • Collect and develop technical expertise in wind turbine electrical systems and in wind turbine control software.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe maintenance operations to ensure conformance to specifications and regulations.
  • Perform problem solving in the field (data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, solution assessments, containment, etc).
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Certified Engineer Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience required
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Experience working with sensors (from simple to complex measuring instruments), PLC hardware, and data acquisition and monitoring tools
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Conversational in Spanish is a plus
