Job Description:

Our direct client in Sunnyvale, CA has an immediate need for a(n) Electrical Controls Engineer.Job Duties:Primary responsibilities for the Electrical Controls Engineer will range from design, analysis, programing, debugging, testing, and modification of electrical and controls designs related to automated capital equipment. The candidate will work together with the process development and design engineering teams to define, and optimize tool designs of the company's production and R&D equipment. The candidate will define the system control architecture, electrical schematics, and will ensure that system is safety compliant. The candidate is expected to keep detailed and organized documentation around all engineering activities and will be expected to write and present designs, test plans and results.This position may range from designing a controls document or electrical schematic from scratch, modification of, and/or working with internal or external partners to develop the final designs/schematics. As a lead, the candidate will be responsible for all activities around software development including, but not limited to, controls architecture, machine design codes and regulations, safety, testing and implementation.Specific responsibilities: Designing and implementing electrical and control systems on automated systems. AC/DC power distribution. Independently debug and troubleshoot equipment. An understanding of tool systems and controls, including motion control, industrial interfaces (DeviceNet, serial communications, Ethernet, etc.). Demonstrate ability to build complex applications using applications such as, but not limited to, C#, VB, RSLogix, Visual Studio. Software quality assurance during all phases of development and implementation. Interface with tool development partners. Key Knowledge and Skills:The successful candidate will be expert at managing the systems design and fabrication of manufacturing worthy process tools. Additional requirements include: Advanced degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering with 10-15 years of industry experience. strong understanding of SEMI S2/S8 , SEMI S22 and SEMI F47 standards Machine and Robot Motion Control with dedicated Motion Controller and built-in DeviceNET, SERCOS and Synqnet driver interface. Electrical and Control system documentation , including System Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, BOM, Control Enclosure Layout, Power and Interlock Schematics. Technical expertise in the design of robotics and automation capital equipment. Thorough understanding of system design requirements for solar and/or semiconductor industries and equipment. Exposure to both development and manufacturing environments. Excellent communication skills and positive creative attitude.
