Job Description:

EHS Engineer Under the general direction of the EHS Manager the ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating environmental, health and safety activities. This position is responsible for promoting the client's EHS policies and for ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations that apply to the site. The incumbent will utilize advanced engineering theories, techniques and procedures to be a site expert as it relates to EHS, collaborating and leading change initiatives in the design and modification of work processes to establish a World Class EHS system Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned):Researches, translates, and communicates governmental regulations in matters related to environment, health and safety issues to supervisor and all others at the site.Completes all required permits and reports to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulation (Form R, Tier II, Title V, Hazardous Waste Generator Report, Hazardous Waste Reduction Plan, Air Permits, Storm water Permits, REACH, ROHS, OSHA 300 log, and others) as requiredAbility to analyze manufacturing processes and products to calculate Hazardous Air Pollutants, Volatile Organic Compounds and related emissions data.Works with manager to develop relationships with regulatory agencies to facilitate open communication on matters of importance to the siteEnsures compliance with the client's EHS requirementsWorks with manager to ensure the site Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard is compliant. Serves as Management Representative.Manages Hazardous & Universal Waste ProgramsCreates and audits environmental, health and safety policies and practices for the siteCoordinates and / or conducts training for facility personnel as it concerns EHS matters as assigned by supervisorParticipates in Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis of EHS incidentsSupports all internal site EHS programs including Risk Assessments, JSA, Industrial Hygiene testing, Behavior Based Safety audits and others as necessary.Communicates with supervisor and local EHS department activities to ensure that objectives are met.Performs other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business Work Experience: Two to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; with a proven track record of success in managing environmental & safety programs and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulationsExcellent communication skills, oral and writtenProven ability to design, manage, and implement projects of a technical natureAble to operate both independently and as a team member or leaderDemonstrated research and problem solving skillsStrong desire for growth and progressive career developmentMust be computer literate Education Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental discipline, safety science, engineering or similar.RCRA Certification, DOT for Hazardous Materials training and Greenbelt Certification preferred.
