Responsibilities: Escalation / Queue Management: Primarily, the Technician will be responsible for day-to-day client support. He / She will work closely with the Helpdesk and the Desktop Support Manager in assessing current queue status . The technician will follow up on lengthy resolution issues and work with the Manager to mitigate client downtime. This individual will ultimately be responsible for break / fix as well as permanent resolutions. This person will lead the effort in solving all technical problems in the desktop arena for the trading floor and will own responsibility for these resolutions. Networking Liaison: This individual will interface regularly with the networking and server groups. He / she will be the point person for desktop contact with the back end administrative teams. The Technician will escalate issues to these groups as required and will work with and follow up with them on various issues / projects . Development Liaison: This individual will act as a liaison between the development and operational teams . He / She will work regularly with Change Management. The Lead will attend weekly development meetings and report back to operations. Project Work: This individual will serve as the technical lead on all operational IT projects with regard to the Trading Floor. By working with the designated project manager, the Lead will own delivery on key milestone dates. Qualifications: Must have experience supporting professionals in an investment trading environment Preferred experience working with: Bloomberg, TradeWeb/MD Link, rediplus, MarketAxecc, FinCad, Solver,Haver, DLX In-depth knowledge of Office 2013 applications, especially excel and access Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Fundamental knowledge of LAN architecture and administration Positive attitude, high-energy team player Knowledge of financial markets required Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements): Undergraduate degree. Experience may offset academic requirements. The Desktop Technician will provide hands-on service and optimal client support in solving complex technical issues on the Trading Floor. The client base will consist of Traders, Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts and Quantitative Analysts in a fast paced daily trading environment.
