Job Description:

Job Summary: As a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining our data center infrastructure hardware, systems and services. The successful candidate will manage our hosted services and solutions, provision new physical and virtual servers and environments and core infrastructure and backbone devices, services and applications and document current and new environments. They will implement new services and adhere to IT design and operational criteria and standards. They will ensure that all server devices/systems function at optimal levels and manage the overall security readiness of data center systems along with backups and disaster recovery solutions. They will develop processes and procedures as they pertain to the operation, administration, maintenance and provisioning of data center infrastructure and server systems. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of antivirus, patching, and data and snapshot backup and restore operations. As this role requires the performance of a variety of tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position will be expected to maintain maximum service availability and uptime and deliver effective data center maintenance and problem identification and resolution activities, as well as growing and developing the organization's perception with existing customers through exceptional customer service. Candidates must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies and management and maintenance processes. This position requires dedication, persistence, follow-up, effective utilization of provided resources and unbeatable customer service. This position will include identifying problems and working within a structured problem management and resolution process to remediate them within established SLAs, and involves working with other resources and vendors to deliver effective data center support services. Job duties include utilizing our professional services automation (PSA) solution along with other service-specific tools and technologies to deliver proactive data center support and maintenance services and update service request information and collaborate and work with other staff and vendor support resources to resolve issues. Overall relationship management skills and the ability to coordinate required resources to respond to complex IT requirements are desired. Other requirements include participating in ongoing training and attainment of manufacturer certifications and developing and maintaining relationships with user and vendor contacts. Primary Responsibilities Include: Day to day administration and operation of data center assets Physical servers, networks, and storage Virtual infrastructure, VMs and virtual network Workstations - desktops and laptops Monitor health and operations of data center infrastructure Respond to alerts, tickets and requests as appropriate Backups/Disaster Recovery Provide "on-call" support as required Systems Engineering Work with professional services engineers on standards and processes for both our company and with customers Maintain current data center documentation - components, configurations, and dependencies Work with the security group to insure data center security meets required standards and practices Provide guidance on configuration of solutions as well as provide functional and technical expertise to client base as necessary Data Center Management Schedule maintenance activities Schedule use of development assets Attend customer/internal meetings as required Job Requirements and Experience: Must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered. Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Center administration or similar Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures including server security, backup, and disaster recovery Strong problem solving skills - Problem analysis and problem resolution Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to both business and technical individuals Required Technical Skills Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems architecture, deployment, administration and support Expertise in virtualization and VMWare architecture, deployment, administration and support Expertise in Veeam architecture, deployment, administration and support Expertise in Microsoft Azure migrations, deployment, administration and support. Expertise in data center networks - Cisco, Fortinet architecture, deployment, administration and support Expertise in database administration - SQL Expertise in MS Exchange Server architecture including O365 Hosted, deployment, administration and support Expertise in Active Directory architecture, deployment, administration and support Expertise in VPN architecture, administration, deployment and support Benefits include group medical/dental insurance, paid vacation, holidays, personal & sick time and training reimbursement.
