Job Description

Compensation: Competitive Base Salary, Bonus

Summary:

  • Designs and details electrical control panels and systems for control of automation production equipment. Responsible for the component selection, controls architecture design, software development, and system integration of all electrical components.
  • 2D Autocad based panel design, BOMs, assembly instructions, customer and vendor interaction. PLC and HMI programming in various manufacturer programming environments, Servo and Robot programming, Vision system programming, and integration of third party devices such as leak testers and welders.

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a productive, experienced control systems engineer who is creative and has excellent, insightful problem-solving abilities.
  • Background in either electrical engineering or mechanical engineering are acceptable, but must have an aptitude for both.
  • Responsible for the functionality of the final system architecture.
  • Create design documentation, software and electrical prints based on mechanical design models and direction from project engineers.
  • Assist in the selection of sensors, servo systems, and pneumatic control valves.
  • Work directly with the assembly team with the debug of machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Education - Bachelors Degree or higher within technical field preferred (BSME/BSEE) or 5+ years equivalent years of experience in the design of automated assembly equipment control systems.
  • Two (2) or more years of demonstrated successful software development experience.
  • The successful candidate will show a track record of design-to-schedule and team-oriented design skills, as well as a basic knowledge of industry best practices, tools and technologies.
  • Must be able to work with mechanical designers to develop control systems in parallel with the machine design.
  • Must have a "whatever it takes" attitude to get assigned tasks completed accurately and on time.
  • Knowledge in the use of electrical devices (i.e. sensors, switches, load cells, servo motors, DC motors and drives, LVDT's, etc.).
  • Skilled in the application and implementation of pneumatic actuators, solenoid valves, vacuum generators, etc.
  • Must be capable of taking direction and following through with assigned tasks.
  • Practical skills in troubleshooting and general problem solving.
  • Prior industry knowledge and the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communications skills and work well within a dynamic professional team.
