This is a tremendous opportunity with an established and rapidly expanding contract manufacturer in the greater Philadelphia area.
The ideal candidate is experienced at creating, modifying, and verifying new and existing CNC programs for multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, with emphasis on optimizing machining processes, tooling designs, dies and fixtures, and the integration of CNC programming with SAP components to increase efficiencies. S/he will work in close cooperation with CNC Lead and Set Up personnel, Process Planners, Tooling Associates, Lean Engineers, Tooling Engineers, and Shop Supervisors to assure the production of high quality machined components.
Provide accurate and timely programming of all assigned CNC Program Systems and Work Centers, from blueprint to first article.
Provide technical support to Lead and Setup personnel as needed, including training on set-ups, program changes, as well as assist in resolving problems to avoid production delays.
Insure accuracy of jobs through the shop by identifying and correcting errors and / or changes on prints when needed. Collaborate with engineering to assure accurate machine operations.
Research and apply knowledge of various materials, insert grades, and the tooling required in all machining operations. Develop a thorough knowledge of blue print reading and how to interpret most drawings.
Accurately operate and understand all aspects of DNC system. Utilize CAM software (MasterCAM preferred) to perform time studies on most machine parts as required. Provide estimated cycle times to Engineering personnel as requested.
Design fixtures, tools, and dies for all assigned areas of production. Coordinate with Tooling Engineer.
Work with CNC programmers and machine operators to optimize machining processes and tooling.
Use CAM Programming knowledge to interface with SAP ERP and tool management systems.
Work on specific engineering projects as assigned by manager.
Set a positive professional example for machine operators. Provide programming training for new employees as designated by supervisor.
Minimum 2 years experience working as a CNC Mill Programmer from blueprint to first article.
Expert knowledge of CAM software, MasterCam preferred.
Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP.
Ability to read blueprints, perform set-ups, tooling, troubleshooting, and multi-axis programming.
Experience with Quality Control testing equipment.
