This position is responsible for programming all new parts coming into the facility and program or re-program existing parts that may run on multiple machines. Assist operators/setup personnel with troubleshooting programs or setup issues. Research and define tooling required for new and existing parts. Maintain the master programming files and wireless system.


* Program CNC Swiss lathes, single and double turret lathes, horizontal and vertical mills.

* Design fixtures for mills and lathes

* Work with engineering on new part quotes and fixture design

* Work with the Engineering Draftsman on updating or creating tooling, method and operation sheets required for part production.

* Assure compliance with established design specifications.

* Take initiative in searching for and suggesting new methods of manufacturing for process improvements. (new drills, inserts, etc.)

* Meet with tooling suppliers monthly (at a minimum) to discuss new tooling options or part issues.

* Complete purchase requisitions for new/replacement tooling.

* Lead a team or be a member of Lean or 5S project.

* Assist in the training of new and existing employees (tooling, programming, etc.)

* Perform work assignments from beginning to end with minimal supervision in an efficient, timely, and professional manner.

* Work in a safe manner at all times, reporting unsafe acts and conditions.

* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Blue print reading skills with an understanding of GD&T

* Knowledge of Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry

* Ability to program in G-code with strong background on speeds and feeds

* Associate Tech Degree 5 years' experience or 10 years CNC experience

* Espirit, Gibscam, or Partsmaker experience preferred

* AutoCAD experience preferred

* Lean certification or background in lean preferred
