Our products include Industrial Grinders, Conveyors and Complete Plant Systems. While we have a rich history in coffee processing (over 90% of coffee processed in North America is processed through our grinders), other industries include food, pet food, craft breweries, dried nuts, cereal, and chemical. All of our products are designed and manufactured at our facility in Chicago, IL.
MPE is seeking a manufacturing engineer to oversee the technical aspect of our manufacturing processes. This individual will need to take a hands-on approach in order to improve production and quality. The position will be responsible for improving efficiencies, minimizing equipment downtime, increasing throughput, ensuring quality standards are held, and maintaining plant safety.

.Implement new equipment and process to increase efficiency and reduce costs
.Implement lean manufacturing concepts to improve productivity
.CNC programing (knowledge of Mazatrol a plus)
.Work as a liaison between the engineering department and the shop-floor. Be able to interpret a part drawing and determine the best way to fabricate it, communicate drawing errors or changes back to engineering, and inform engineering of any necessary updates to routings or work orders.
.Fixture and tooling design
.Troubleshoot equipment problems
.Process and quality documentation
.Work with factory supervisor to ensure customer demand is met
.Ability to work independently and take the initiative with limited direction
.Ability to quickly grasp and learn technical concepts related to company's products and applications
.Ability to collaborate effectively on a daily basis with shop floor personnel and office staff
.Ability to communicate efficiently through both written and verbal mediums
.Ability to think outside the box and be inventive in developing solutions
.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Essential Technical Skills:
.Experience and proficiency in MS Office applications
.Ability to understand engineering prints - Knowledge of CAD software a plus
.Experience with CNC programming
.Experience in a machining, fabricating, or assembly environment
.Exposure to lean manufacturing
.1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
.Spanish speaking a plus
.Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Required
