Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for creating the foundational automation tools being used by thousands of software engineers across the globe. This team creates solutions in relation to IaaS, PaaS, containers, configuration management, Big Data, and more. As an automation engineer, you will provide guidance, code examples, and coaching to our development community on techniques to best utilize our platform. Specific responsibilities will include the following: * Engage and collaborate with customers to understand (and influence) requirements * Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact * Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives * Facilitate, lead and/or participate in identification of solution options and features * Communicate solution options to customers * Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs * Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans) * Create automation workflows on the vRealize platform * Deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget * Be an active member of Scrum teams * Help build a solid, reliable and scalable engineering culture that drives continuous and robust automation * Drive DevOps model adoption * Build and maintain processes and tools for deployment, monitoring and operations * Proven vRealize Cloud Automation (vCAC) and/or VMware Cloud Automation platform experience * Experience with VMware vRealize Automation and Orchestration, with specific experience developing sophisticated vRealize Orchestrator Workflows * Demonstrated scripting skills using Python and Java * Collaboration and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to gather requirements from software engineers and work with them to build solutions * Track record of success delivering global, complex and scalable infrastructure automation solutions * Experience navigating organizational growth and change Desired Experiences: * VMWare NSX / SDN * Mesos * Docker * VCP6-CMA certification * ScaledAgile * DevOps Technology Careers with Optum.
