\AbleVets, LLC is a fast growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Cloud Engineer to support Department of Veterans Affairs' Enterprise Cloud Services Broker (ECSB) contract. This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office and could involve travel to the customer offices in Washington, DC.Essential Functions and Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate must have thorough knowledge to create plans to assure effective management, operation, and maintenance of Cloud to include hosted systems and/or networks. This individual has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks, including high-volume and high-availability systems, and must be well versed in Network structures, routers, switches, and firewalls. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:. Identify inter-dependencies of the different technologies to be deployed within the Cloud and their relevance. Conduct remote patch management, software distribution, operating system deployments, upgrades, and network access protection. Prioritize work and identify high-risk critical problems and dedicate appropriate resources. Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks to include high-volume/high-availability systems. Provide direction and guidance on architectural use cases and requirements unique to cloud application configirations. Provide network administrative support in virtual network architecture and technical configuration management. Review current systems and make technical and process recommendations for improving efficiency. Support strategic planning and development of recommendations for automation, process improvements, and incorporation of new technologies specific to access management. Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team and perform effectively as key system administrator. Create plans to assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks located within the cloud Minimum Requirements: . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. 5 years of System Administration experience in medium to large enterprise systems managing access. Candidates must be US citizens and will be required to undergo a background investigation.. Experience architecting solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and, preferably, other cloud providers. Experience with assessment, development, implementation, optimization, and documentation of a comprehensive and broad set of security technologies and processes (secure software development (Application Security), data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management (IAM), network security) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments. Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc.). Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, etc.) preferred. Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services. Experience working with cloud security and governance tools, cloud access security brokers (CASBs), and server virtualization technologies. Experience with enterprise applications (architecture, development, support, and troubleshooting) Desired Qualifications;
