Job Description

Overview:

GMRE is seeking an Avionics/ Electrical Systems Integration Engineer's principle responsibility is to perform the analysis and test for the integration of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including reports and test development to meet customer requirements, company standards and compliance with DoD and Federal Regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • System integration design for avionic equipment in aircraft including preparation of schematics and wiring harness drawings

  • Work within a development team to define, develop specifications, develop interface control documents, verify and qualify an integrated system solution for military and/or commercial aircraft

  • Communicate designs, data, and specifications to the avionics technicians to ensure understanding of the system being modified

  • Contribute and participate in technical reviews of military and/or commercial avionics systems

  • Develop solutions to address hardware and software obsolescence

  • Communicate daily with the project manager as to design status as well as any unresolved problems, delays, etc. so he/she can assist in resolution of the problems

  • Provide system analysis, including specification of applicable test, and conductance of test to show compliance with the applicable Air Force, DoD, and FAA regulations

  • Lead activities such as; failure investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned, issues and design standards updates

  • Create, store and control drawing data in accordance with established company systems

  • Perform estimating for the systems design and analysis requirements

  • Contribute and/or author required reports and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain / maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Background in the electrical sciences field including direct experience with modern avionics systems and aerospace practices
  • 4+ Years of design and analysis experience
  • Aircraft modifications and completions experience
  • Experience with Legacy DoD Aircraft (desired)
  • Familiarity with U.S. Air Force System Program Offices (SPO) and processes
  • Proficient with CAD software and 2 years, direct work experience
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 20% travel required with possible international travel
  • Subject to AECA/ITAR/EAR and related requirements: U.S. Citizenship or U.S. permanent residency
