Performs body application support for truck chassis modification and special equipment installation on Isuzu trucks. Provides technical data/information including 2D/3D data to body builders. Supports publication of Data Book and Body Builder's Guide. Conducts application market analysis. Assists in body application engineering to Isuzu dealers and customers. Advises chassis selection, chassis modification using complex weight distribution, vehicle performance, and material stress calculations. Provides engineering support data to body builders, dealers, customers, vendors, and other Isuzu departments (domestic and international) related to vehicle specifications, chassis data including CAD/Unigraphics (UG) chassis 2D/3D math data. Controls non-disclosure agreements with body builders. Supports publication of Data Book and Body Builder's Guide. Collects and organizes layouts and edits engineering information and specifications for Data Book and Body Builder's Guide. Provides CV body market analysis to Product Planning and other departments.
The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer. This is primarily a sedentary position in a controlled office environment which requires only occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less. Occasional instances requiring lifting of light to average objects (5-60 lbs.) and rare instances lifting heavy objects (over 60 lbs.). Occasionally includes bending, kneeling, and stooping while working on engineering proto type vehicles. This position requires 10-20% domestic travel including possible overnight stays.
