Seeking an assertive and self-directed Assistant District Structure & Bridge Engineer to manage the Richmond District's bridge project delivery program. Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction in the planning, design, preparation of plan and construction documents for bridge structures, repairs and rehabilitations, meeting all AASHTO and VDOT design schedule requirements. You will assist in meeting commitments related to federal strategy, developing and evaluating State of Good Repair program and bridge performance measures; manage and coordinate VDOT staff and consultant services in areas related to design, plan development and construction; provide technical guidance related to bridge design, maintenance and construction, including ancillary structures; prioritize, plan, coordinate, and manage work activities related to the design of new bridge structures as well as the maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of existing structures and serve as section head in all bridge related matters in absence of the District Structure and Bridge Engineer. Function as Responsible Charge Engineer signing and sealing plans. Develop bridge delivery program by coordinating with other sections and divisions, monitoring six year improvement program, federal strategy, IPM, Dashboard, project development process and schedule. Serve on the District Bridge office's leadership team and assist the District Structure & Bridge Engineer in the management and administration of the District Bridge Office.
