Roadway Repair and Maintenance (RRM)s new Contract Management Unit will be responsible for managing DOTs milling contracts. This Unit will be responsible for the milling contracts from inception through closure. This will involve procuring the contracts, developing the design specifications and estimates for each contract, and working with DOTs Agencys Chief Contracting Officer (ACCO) in bidding and registering the contracts. The Assistant Civil Engineer will assist in the development of the specifications and estimates required to procure the contracts. In addition, responsibilities will include assisting various RRM Borough Planners and Directors with inspections, surveys, review of plans for construction, demolitions, and alterations.
1. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college and one (1) year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or 2. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college and a masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. A masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited college can only be used to substitute for one year of full-time satisfactory work experience in civil engineering. A degree in any other engineering area, or in any engineering technology area, is not acceptable.
Candidate must be willing to work night shifts as needed.
