Job Summary :

Performs production assembly to build up, disassemble and/or re-assemble units. Performs self inspection and testing of assemblies produced. May also be qualified (via Quality System) to perform final inspections of assemblies. Works from production/assembly instructions, parts lists, diagrams, verbal instructions and notes to assemble, and install a wide variety of components. May also build to blueprint specifications. May assemble by hand or operate semiautomatic and automatic assembly equipment. Works with engineers to assist in the development of new products or improve current processes. Uses small hand tools such as drills, taps, wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers. May assist in bonding and conformed coating activities of finished product. Performs data entry and data manipulation on PC. May assist training entry level employees.





Responsibilities :

? Works under general direction only. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy.

? Contributes to the efficient workflow / operations within the department. Identifies / recognizes areas requiring improvement. Failure to achieve results may cause moderate delays, expenses or inefficiencies.

? Resolution of problems / issues requires minimul investigation and / or judgment. The supervisor is involved if specific questions or problems arise.

? Contacts are primarily with others within TS and may require discussion / explanation of somewhat complex information.

? This position may serve as a resource to others within the work group / department.

? Must have aircraft knowledge

? Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)

? Good working knowledge of Oracle

? Must be a US citizen able to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance

? This position is not responsible for providing guidance to others.

? Ability to communicate technical skills and processes to interact with engineering, and supervisors.

? Ability to work with little or no supervision

? Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, engineering drawings and specifications

o Blue Print Reading

o Wire Lists

o Interconnect Diagrams

o Manufacturers Technical Data and Installation Instructions

? Performs self inspection and testing of assemblies produced

o Follow up inspection of other assemblers

o Verifying completion of assemblies and installation

o Verifying Torques

? Perform sheet metal work

o Layout of patterns, simple and complex

o Drilling holes

o Installing special fasteners

o Reworking fasteners

? / Working knowledge of Military specifications /

? / Working knowledge of Military and Commercial hardware and electrical connectors /

? / Working knowledge of Aircraft Fasteners /

? Working knowledge of Electrical assembly

o Cable fabrication

o Crimping Connectors
