Job Description The Wells Fargo Innovation Labs Team is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to lead and support cross-functional/virtual teams to plan and execute a variety of emerging technology projects and business initiatives within the Wells Fargo Innovation Labs, which is part of Innovation Technology. The key function of this role is to build and support virtual infrastructure to enable R&D initiatives within the lab environment. Primary duties & responsibilities include: Configuration and build of Lab infrastructure for new lab projects; virtual machines for Windows or Linux servers which requires experience with Windows Azure / Azure Pack, VMware, vCenter, RedHat Linux, and sysadmin skills for both Windows and Linux Managing and executing the patching process and compliance reporting for Lab infrastructure Capacity planning across physical and associated virtual environments Partnering with LOB and EIT partners to understand R&D objectives in order to assist in appropriate system design and configuration of required infrastructure. This may often require working with Vendors to understand minimum system configuration requirements Collaboration with cross-functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting resource priorities as necessary May be called upon by senior management and others to provide insight into technology trends and to review / spotlight current Lab initiatives with high visibility The ASE5 acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs andwrites technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. Required Qualifications 7+ years of application development and implementation experience 4+ years of Linux experience Desired Qualifications Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology Strong relationship development skills Other Desired Qualifications 8+ years in more than one of the following areas: technology strategy, systems administration, architecture, application development and infrastructure Engineering, administration and support hands-on experience with Virtualization and Cloud platforms (IaaS and PaaS) including VMware, Windows Azure Pack/System Center and/or OpenStack/Cloud Foundry 6+ years enterprise application development and/or support experience using any one or more of the following languages: C#, Java, Bash, Perl and Powershell Proven track record of developing and deploying best practices for new technologies within a lab environment, and / or developing agile processes in a large matrixed organization Demonstrated ability to develop, articulate, and execute strategies related to effective and flexible use of people, systems, structures and processes which drive qualitative improvements and value Ability to quickly learn and articulate new technologies, trends, and direction Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
