Job Title: Advanced Technician, Auto Business Unit: Operating - Auto Reports To: Sears Auto Center Manager Exemption Status:Non-Exempt Scope of Responsibility:This position is responsible for successful execution of services on customer vehicles in single auto center . Supervision (Direct & Indirect): none Job Summary:The Advanced Technician, Auto is responsible for providing professional, timely, and courteous customer service in alignments, brakes, mechanical, and other certified automotive repairs while completing each job on time without error or omission.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Promotes teamwork to deliver timely and accurate customer care during all operating hoursProvides proper customer focus and must work as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, expert service to every customeDemonstrate a sense of urgent responsiveness to every customer no matter what service is requiredUses the Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) form to understand customer service advisor's and customer service manager's instructionsWillingness to provide service to all customersFulfills the customer's needs the first time and every timeCommunicates with customer experience manager, customer service advisor, and other technicians to meet Sears Automotive time standards and to exceed customer requirementsAdheres strictly to Sears Automotive Dress Code standards; Protect customer's vehicle with floor mats/steering wheel covers and, if necessary, fender covers; perform "Quick Check" visual inspections and communicate with customer service manager and/or customer service advisor within 10 minutesCompletes Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) and communicate with customer service manager/customer service advisor within 30 minutesDocuments service recommendation using Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) form following Sears Automotive Inspection and Repair Guidelines and the Motorist Assurance Program guidelinesPerforms all services within manufacturer specifications and Sears Automotive guidelines; Demonstrate a commitment to quality work in all certified areas; Complete all services listed on work order without error or omissionFollows specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship and prevent complaint comebacksUses appropriate personal protective equipment, back belt, safety glasses and safety shoes at all timesApplies exceptional attention to detail to ensure that no steps are missed so the customer's safety is not jeopardizedSigns off on Quality Service Evaluation (QSE) and assume personal accountability for quality workmanship and customer satisfactionTest drives vehicle to verify performance and correction of customer's reason for visitAdheres to Sears Automotive wheel torque policy to ensure customer safetySigns off in Tire Point of Sale immediately on job completion to expedite customer exitThanks customer and express appreciation for the businessStages each vehicle in customer-friendly location after final test drivePerforms miscellaneous duties as assigned Education Requirements: HS Graduate or Equivalent Years of Related Experience: 2-3 YearsLicense/Certificate Required: YesDriver's License Required: YesTravel Requirements: NoneAge Requirement: 18+ Required Skills: Commitment to safety: Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, back belt, safety glasses and safety shoes at all times The duties, responsibilities and requirements presented in this job description are intended to be representative in nature and should not be construed as an exhaustive list.
