Summary:
The Advanced Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible to manage APQP process and issues during an ongoing product launch and into production. The position is mainly to support OEM`s and it`s Tier1, but will not be limited to these customers. In addition to quality experience, electrical, electronic circuit experience and mechanical aptitude is required for this position. The ideal candidate will be a Quality expert with extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance and Electronics.

Responsibilities:
Qualified applicants for the Advanced Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer position must possess the ability to perform the following:

  • Coordinates all Quality activities to meet customer objectives and satisfaction
  • Understands "automotive" demands and knows what steps are required to meet them.
  • Understands both Advanced and Reactive Quality and can fluently work in either environment
  • Ensures that all groups within Sharp understand APQP and PPAP product launch deliverables and drive the organization for on-time submissions
  • Be the demanding "Voice of Quality" for new product launches and coordinate activities within multiple departments and business units to achieve Global Quality goals and objectives
  • Willing and able to work/travel globally
  • Able to direct the Advanced Quality activities during new product launch on multiple OEM platforms over the next several years
  • As platforms launch, do both Advanced Quality and Reactive Quality simultaneously so that the product performance improves on each successive platform
  • Work with local representatives to be the trusted first responder for the customer
  • Develops trusting and professional 2-way relationships with customers by keeping them happy while managing costs
  • Quickly diagnose problem situations at customer sites, coordinate immediate containment and direct the activities within Sharp to deliver proper Corrective Action Report (8D) submissions within prescribed time limits
  • Required to travel to both Sharp and customer manufacturing plants to diagnose, verify and evaluate quality issues
  • Understands and operates within ISO/TS16949 requirements and procedures
  • Moderately proficient with all Microsoft Office applications. Very proficient at Excel and able to sort and filter data to draw valid and statistically relevant conclusions.

Requirements:

  • BSEE or other technical degree, or equivalency
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic circuits
  • Experience in both Advanced Quality/Quality Assurance - pre/post production
  • Experience in New Product Development
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Certifications: TS16949, AIAG, Black belt, and Six Sigma
  • International experience and ability to travel globally to HQ customer manufacturing plants
  • Experience with OEM`s
